Read below briefly the bios of those we are choosing to loan your donated money to. Some of these borrowers may already have their loans met or are close to their goal by the time you donate, but these are just a few of the many groups/individuals who will receive the love and help from you.

Amavi

Based in Togo

Amavi needs a loan of $1,175 helps to buy 70 lengths of 'pagne' cloth.

Amavi, part of a couple, is a mother supporting two children. She manages a business selling 'pagnes' [the colorful wax cloth of western Africa]. She places her orders at the big market in the capital to serve the customers in her area. She is requesting a loan to order some 'pagne' cloth to sell, thus to respond to customer expectations.

This loan is facilitated by our Lending Partner, Assilassimé Solidarité. Lending Partners are local organizations working in communities to vet borrowers, provide services, and administer loans on the ground.

Assilassimé Solidarité ("Hand in Hand" in Ewe, the local language) is a nonprofit microfinance institution in Togo founded in 2012. The organization is distinguished in the Togolese microfinance landscape because it offers services only to vulnerable individuals in the Lomé area, particularly the disabled, single mothers, sex workers, people living with HIV, and widows.

Meriam

Based in Philippines

Meriam requested a 40,000 PHP (700 USD) loan through NWTF to buy additional boxes of fish to sell.

Meriam has been sustaining her business activities through her own efforts with the help of loans from NWTF. She dreams of saving enough money that she could afford to send her children to college.

This loan is facilitated by our Lending Partner, Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF). Lending Partners are local organizations working in communities to vet borrowers, provide services, and administer loans on the ground.

Puataisia

Based in Tonga

Puataisia needs a loan of $900 helps to buy raw materials for her handicraft business.

Puataisia is 60 years old. She makes a living for her family from handicrafts. She is a widow for many years and for the time being she takes full responsibility for her 10 kids. They have all finished school and stay with her under their own roof.

Currently, she is still managing to run this handicrafts business on her own. She can make kiekie, fans, Tongan baskets, and many more craft products. She sells them locally and sometimes she exports them overseas to her sister for marketing.

She joined the SPBD loan program over 10 years ago and she has been an active and reliable member since day one. She became a Center Chief in her center and she will be a good model for the rest of the members.

This time she requests a loan to help her in buying more materials that she can use for her handicrafts business. With the help of this loan she will be able to continue to operate her crafts business to earn more income which will help her to feed and look after her kids.

Aina

Based in Philippines

Aina is a hardworking entrepreneur who has a general store business in the Philippines. Aina requested a PHP 25,000 loan through NWTF to invest in a sanitary toilet.

Aina knows that using the sanitary toilet will ultimately reduce health and hazard risks to her family.
